• Awesome read for teaching children about Ben Franklin and his inventions along with how we use his ideas today.
  Side note I contacted the author because I was using the book for a class project and he was extremely friendly and answered all my questions. Great guy and he puts a lot of effort into researching the information in his books.
• This is a very nice hard cover book. We purchased several books on Ben Franklin while studying about him in our homeschool. This was one of our favorites. Both my 8 and 12 year old loved it..It is nonfiction and it showcases some of his inventions that kids would know about in the modern world.
• Beautiful and clever illustrations more than complement the text which is interesting and captivating for older children as well as young-at-heart adults. Side-by-side pictures and text depict how Ben's ideas and inventions affected his time period and how they still do in modern times. This book is worth the price if only for the artwork or the text. One of the best non-fiction pictures books I've read and I'm a retired children's school librarian. This biography should be in every school library for children to enjoy and teacher's to share in American history.
• My 7 year old used this book to write a biography of Ben Franklin. He loved this book, and the format was perfect for an elementary book report.
• My daughter fell in love with this book from the library so we had to buy it. It's a fun and well illustrated book for children to understand how amazing Benjamin Franklin was.
• This book focuses on the modern-day devices we use which were actually invented by Benjamin Franklin more than 250 years ago. The odometer is one example, the lightning rod another. The book is arranged so that the "now" pages and the "Ben" pages are opposite each other. The "now" pages show the inventions as they are used today, the "Ben" pages show Franklin in his time, with peers or family. Cleverly done, and kids and early-grade teachers will enjoy discussing the contents for days at a time.
• This is a really cute book and my students love it. It does make Ben Franklin seem like a complete rock star. I'm not saying he wasn't a rock star, but he didn't actually INVENT all those things. He was actually very good at implementing things he'd seen on his European trips. Did it make life better for everyone in the Colonies? Absolutely, but don't say he invented them.
