"I really enjoyed this book. It's filled with lots of odd & fascinating stories. Some have a military theme to them, but not all. The story about Mercury Astronaut Deke Slayton's "ghost airplane" is really weird! Highly recommended!"

Mack Maloney Haunted Universe Mack Maloney Books Reviews
- THis isn't a book about any theories, or evidence, or interviews- or ?? its a collection of little snippets. Its more like a national enquirer cover. There is no evidence, no followup, but just a "rumor" with a date and some detail usually a paragraph or 2. Much of its dated- from the early 1900-s until mid 1900-s. FOr example- "on 12/7/1939 someone wrote on the sidewalk, "remember peal harbor" which was exactly 2 years prior. The writer was never identified.
This is the kind of stuff in the book. I want facts, photos, interviews- not just some sound bite====
I guess for that reason I was very disappointed, and gave it 3 stars. I believe about 1/3 of the stories in it. - I have followed Mack Maloney on radio for awhile now and enjoyed the programs. This book, "Haunted Universe" is a great read. Take it in small chunks or big bites. Not boring. Lots of stories that are written in such a humorous way that you have to chuckle. I love Mack's writing style. It's like listening to his "Mack Maloney's Military X-Files Show." Sometimes serious, other times funny with plenty of interesting and factual content. I bought 2 copies. I have one in the car so when I'm stuck in traffic I can read a couple of stories. This book is a must for every reader.
- Have followed Mack Maloney's works in writing for years, have reviewed most of his books. Big fan of his show on a multitude of net radio and military stations. Here is a collection of many of the research points he worked through for his non-fiction and fiction projects. A great read that is fast and packs a lot in small bites. Great companion to his show Mack Maloney's Military X-Files. The forward by Juan-Juan is a perfect fit for a haunted universe.
- Mack Maloney has always loved the mysterious & the unexplained. Fresh out of college at a Boston newspaper he would collect the "weird but true" stories that came across the teletype. He has followed in that path of looking into the strange & unusual for the past several decades & also covers those kinds of topics on his current radio show, "Mack Maloney's Military X-Files". As a fan of Mack's "Wingman" series I decided to try his foray into UFOs & the paranormal. I have not been disappointed. I purchased "Haunted Universe" on and as someone who has always been fascinated by these "fringe" subjects I found that Mack has done an excellent job in covering everything from classic UFO cases, ghost ships, cryptid reports (like the Oklahoma Octopus!), UFO hot spots, & has even included some hilarious personal anecdotes. My favorite by far, however is the mysterious "M-Triangle" --- a beyond amazing high strangeness zone (a three ring circus of the paranormal) in a remote area of Russia that I believe Mack probably has an exclusive on, as I have never read or heard of it reported anywhere else. This book is one hell of a fun read.
- I really enjoyed this book. It's filled with lots of odd & fascinating stories. Some have a military theme to them, but not all. The story about Mercury Astronaut Deke Slayton's "ghost airplane" is really weird! Highly recommended!
- Large print with a lot of white space. No depth or evidence in content. Save yourself some money.
- The book is full of information. It reads smoothly and the size of the reads are perfect. I will read every book this fellow writes. Very easy reading and looking forward to reading more.
- I just thought it was another novel, I didn't realize it was a collection of his radio broadcasts and essays. Not my style of reading.
