Mika Lane takes a well-used storyline and makes it her own. The success of this story is due to the characters. Belle and Xander are fantastic and so are their friends. The supporting cast is lovely. Jackie, Zenia, Sean, Sandy, and Richard all helped round the story out nicely. I could have done without Xander's glowing accounts of Zenia that almost crossed the line. The sweetness, intense chemistry, and genuine bond between Belle and Xander helped me to forget his comments and his occupation. From their first date at the House of Waffles to their final one, I loved these two together!"

- This is a sweet story about a woman running from a crazy ex-husband and an escort and up and coming actor. Xander is a romantic at heart and when he is paid to escort the beautiful Belle on a date he wants more, but rules are rules. His chance comes after he lands a role in a film which means he has to resign his position. Now there are no rules to break. Just as Belle starts to relax her psycho ex finds her. The race is on to save Belles life.the only reason I didn't give this story a four is the editing mistakes.

Great book. I loved it.
Belle and Xander moved to LA to give their lives a new direction. Xander's family was in the army and he had never had a fixed home, always on the move. He dreamed of becoming an actor. And she left behind her whole life fleeing from her abusive ex-husband.
They met in a special way. He worked for an escort agency while hoping to succeed as an actor. She went to his agency because her best friend gave her a gift, and the owner suggested that she meet him.
He hoped it would be like the other times, work, make her feel good, see her smile. But, as soon as he met her, he realized that there was a connection between them, and she also noticed it. But, although he wanted to be something more between them, it couldn't be. He wanted to spend the night with her, but he couldn't do it, because it would break the rules of the company. So he left and she was disappointed, thinking, again, that she wasn't good enough, that it had only been work for him. She was surprised to see him at work. Xander didn't want to lose her. And, with a good opportunity to work as an actor, he could leave the agency and start a relationship with her. There was nothing that could separate them anymore. Except Belle's ex-husband.
I really liked it.
Belle is very insecure, she doesn't think she's good for anything. The book reflects that very well.
Xander is charming.
I loved them together.
I loved how he and his coworkers got along. There's no rivalry between them, they're a family. I would like to see more stories with them, that they find their happy ending.
I recommend it.
I received a complimentary ARC from the author, and this is my honest review. - Los Angeles can be a place to hide or a place to be discovered. Belle ran as far as she could until her money ran out. She lives in fear that her abusive ex-husband will find her. Xander came to the city to seek stardom but it hasn’t come quickly and he’s parked cars and works as an escort at The Agency waiting to get his big break. Belle hasn’t dated since she left her ex, and to encourage her to get ‘back in the saddle’ Belle’s friend Jackie gives her a gift certificate to The Agency and she picks Xander as her date.
I loved this book. The plot is well developed and the characters and in the story are believable. This is my favorite Mika Lane read to date.

There are so many ways that a story line this could have gone, but this was done just right. It starts out in kind of a silly fashion that helps you relate to Belle. It's a true full development of her story. You learn so much about her from the start that it gives you a chance to get to know her and understand why things happen the way they do through out the book. Xander seems to be looking for something as well but he doesn't know it. But when he sees Belle for the first time tog can tell he's found what he needed.
The character development is spot on, the main plot line was well thought threw and Xander sounds like a wet dream. So glad i was able to read this! I received an arc of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own. - There's a lot to say about Belle and Xander, but here's what I thought. I liked that Belle was cautious because of her ex-husband and Xander was what they would call a pretty boy in L.A. but not seen as an actor. Belle was working her way through college and counted on no one to help because she didn't want to leave a trace for her ex to find her. Xander was so sweet and kind to her, but she really didn't want to open up but she did. She also got some sex out of the deal which is a plus. I liked how this book had me wanting to see how it ended. I voluntarily reviewed this as an arc of the book.
- Mika Lane has the habit of writing steamy, meltingly hot books that suck you into the story and this book is no exception. Taking the traditional story of moving to a new place to create a new life for oneself, Mika Lane makes it her own with a twist. Throw in some intrigue, drama, and a sweet romance and you have the beginnings of a great book. If you have enjoyed other books by this author, as I have, you will definitely enjoy this one.
